Google fined billions of dollars

CNBC: EU court upholds the European Commission's decision to fine Google $ 2.8 billion by 2.4 billion euros (2.8 billion dollars) for violation of antitrust laws. This is reported by CNBC.

According to the publication, in June 2017, the executive body of the European Union (EU) decided to fine Google 2.4 billion euros for abusing its dominant position in the market of Internet search systems. The division of the company challenged the decision in a higher court.

Then the general counsel of the corporation Kent Walker said that Google “respects, but does not agree with the decision of the European Commission,” and the company's actions in the market are useful for both advertisers and users. However, the court of general jurisdiction upheld the verdict. It is noted that the decision can be appealed and submitted to the EU Supreme Court.

On November 8, it became known that the Tagansky District Court of Moscow fined Google and Telegram six million rubles for refusing to delete information prohibited in Russia from their resources. In particular, Google was ordered to pay two million, and Telegram was fined four million.
