Belarus has increased its air defense forces on the borders with the European Union

Belarus has increased its air defense forces at the borders and conducted patrols with Russian aircraft and the north-west of the country (that is, on the borders with the EU countries), according to the Ministry of Defense of the republic in its Telegram channel.

By a decision agreed with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, air forces and assets “of the unified air defense system of the two countries. In particular, the parties worked out the interaction of fighter aircraft, patrolling the border of Belarus, in which two Russian TU-22M3 aircraft took part. At the estimated time, they landed at an airfield in Russia.

The Belarusian Defense Ministry added that if earlier such flights of strategic bomber aviation were cyclical, then from November 10 they will be performed on a regular basis. They called such measures “an adequate response to the evolving situation both in the air and on the ground.”
