Angler caught a huge carp and broke the record

Illinois fisherman caught record carp weighing 32.8 kg

In Illinois, USA, Jarrett Knise caught a huge carp weighing 32, 8 kilograms and broke the state record. This is reported by the Chicago Sun-Times.

On Saturday, November 6, a large fish pecked on Nise's bait. At first, the man mistook her for a large catfish, but soon realized that a bighead carp belonging to the carp family had caught his bait.

After the fisherman pulled the record carp ashore, he carried it to a fishing shop, to weigh on a certified scale. However, the catch was too heavy for them. Nise had to go to another store that had larger scales. It was closed, but on this occasion the owner agreed to open it outside of working hours.

It turned out that the weight of the caught fish is 32.8 kilograms, the length is 132 centimeters, and the girth is 99 centimeters. It is thus heavier than the current state record set by Jack Bailey in 2010 at 31.3 kilograms.

Nise must apply to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources to register officially.

Earlier it was reported that in the US state of Texas, fisherman Ben Christensen caught a blue catfish weighing 14.3 kilograms, broke the existing state record and may set a new world record. Christensen spent 40 minutes trying to pull the catfish ashore.
