In July 2019, the law “On ensuring the functioning of the Ukrainian language as the state language” came into force in Ukraine. The document made its use mandatory for public authorities and local governments, educational institutions, hospitals, services and media.
In July 2021, the Constitutional Court (CC) of the country recognized the law as legitimate and obliged everyone to speak Ukrainian citizens of the republic without exception.
