According to Schultz, the conversation in the Federation Council was also frank and constructive. He added that he first met with the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, and despite the difference in positions, the ex-head of the European Parliament did not feel hostility.
Earlier, Schultz said that a war between world powers was again likely, tension between the US and China could escalate into an armed conflict that will affect the countries of the European Union (EU). He drew attention to the fact that against this background it is especially important for Russia, in spite of the problems in relations with the EU, to cooperate with Germany.
