At the same time, Lithuania bought energy from Russia, although before that it had urged Ukraine not to do this.
At the same time, the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the “Servant of the People” Maksim Buzhansky said that Lithuania, which had urged Kiev not to buy electricity in Russia and Belarus, decided to import it from Moscow and Minsk at prices lower than Ukraine is forced to do. Buzhansky recalled how in March this year, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda, speaking in the Rada, called on Ukraine to stop buying electricity from Russia and Belarus.

At the same time, Ukraine is still trying to delay the certification of Nord Stream 2, the construction of which was completed on September 10. The head of the Ukrainian GTS Operator, Serhiy Makogon, said that the decision on the application filed by Kiev on October 20 for participation in the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline certification process will be accepted until November 14.
The Polish oil and gas company PGNiG, participating in the certification procedure, insists on the refusal of certification due to risks to the security of gas supplies to the EU. Russia has repeatedly emphasized the exclusively commercial nature of the gas pipeline.
However, the leaders of European countries, whose residents suffer from soaring energy prices, have a different opinion. Klaus Ernst, a member of the German Bundestag from the Left Party, the former head of the Committee on Economy and Energy, said that Ukraine should not take part in the certification of Nord Stream 2. In his opinion, the country's only task is to pay gas bills. Ernst has a similar point of view regarding Poland, which, in his opinion, should not be taken into account.
