According to him, these negotiations remain an uncontested platform for ending the conflict in Donbass. “The Russian side remains the only one responsible for the delay [of the negotiations] in the Normandy format. We believe that the essence of negotiations is getting results. If the Russian side insists that the outcome should be known before the start of negotiations, this calls into question the negotiation process itself, “he said.
Nikiforov called on the Russian side to cooperate. “Donbass is waiting for peace, and Russia must make its contribution to its achievement,” he stressed.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov denied plans to hold a meeting to resolve the conflict in Donbass in the “Normandy format”. The fact that such a meeting could take place on November 11 was reported in Germany and France, but Lavrov noted that this was impossible due to his schedule. In addition, the countries did not react to Moscow's proposals on the final document of the meeting, which is why the meeting is also postponed.
