Kremlin spokesman Peskov: President Putin spoke on the phone with the CIA director
Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with the director of the Central Intelligence Agency ( CIA) by William Burns, who came to Moscow. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told about this, writes TASS.
According to the press secretary of the head of state, during the conversation, the sides touched upon bilateral relations, the crisis situation in diplomatic practice, as well as the exchange of views on regional conflicts. In addition, Putin and Burns discussed cybersecurity issues.
The fact that Burns flew to Moscow on behalf of US President Joe Biden became known on November 2. The purpose of his visit is to hold a series of meetings with representatives of the Russian authorities and discuss issues of US-Russian relations.
In turn, the United States Embassy in Moscow reported that the meetings are scheduled for November 2-3. So, already on the first day of the trip, the head of the CIA met with the secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev. The press service of the Security Council staff clarified that the politicians discussed issues related to relations between Moscow and Washington.
