MIT robots were taught to interact with each other
Specialists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) taught robots to social interaction. This is reported on the organization's website.
The report says that modern robots are capable of performing complex jobs, but even the most advanced of them are not designed for social interaction. Engineers have succeeded in creating algorithms on the basis of which machines perceive other smart devices and try to establish contact with them. According to the authors, their model creates realistic and predictable social interactions.
As an example, scientists said that robots analyze the behavior of other machines in order to understand their goals and objectives. So, if one of the robots is going to water a tree, then the other can help him with this – give a watering can, bring water. According to engineers, in this case, basic social skills are formed between robots.
Interaction between machines is necessary to more quickly solve certain problems. So, in a two-dimensional environment that scientists have created, robots receive positive marks for helping other devices and negative ones if the machine interferes with another robot by its actions. “Robots will soon begin to live in our world, and they really need to learn how to communicate with us on a human basis,” said Boris Katz, head of the InfoLab MIT group.
Earlier, the head of the Sberbank Robotics Laboratory, Alexey Gonnochenko, said that the appearance of robots the future is different from the generally accepted one. According to him, cars will not look like people.
