Commander of the Southern Military District Dvornikov spoke about new tactics 
The combat training of the Russian army is based on new tactics of using troops. The Commander of the Southern Military District, Hero of Russia, General of the Army Alexander Dvornikov, spoke about the development of the training system for military personnel in an interview with the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper.
The commander emphasized that the training program is constantly being improved. According to him, the experience gained by the armed forces during the operation in Syria is used in the training of servicemen. Actions in the course of this conflict are distinguished by the absence of a clear division of tasks at the strategic, operational and tactical levels.
Dvornikov noted that the training of military personnel is based on practicing actions in desert and mountainous terrain. Also, the units are practicing urban combat and the use of high-precision weapons. He stressed that in the course of training, commanders are taught to make proactive decisions that will allow them to maintain the initiative on the battlefield.
The commander of the Southern Military District said that the military are practicing non-standard use of equipment and weapons. “In practice, the commanders of battalion tactical groups received at their disposal not only units of various types of troops, but also the opportunity to use the entire range of their weapons in an unconventional way. When presenting ideas and decisions, commanders use expressions such as “tank-sniper,” “tachanka,” “wandering mortar,” Dvornikov noted.
