Therapist Chernenko: crosswords and languages will help restore memory faster after coronavirus
for its penetration into the brain, those who have recovered from the infection often complain of memory problems. Therapist Elena Chernenko gave Russians advice on how to quickly restore cognitive functions. Her words are quoted by Channel Five.
Most often, those who have had large lung damage with COVID-19, and their blood saturation dropped below 95 percent, are most often faced with similar problems. The second reason why memory can deteriorate is the penetration of the coronavirus into the brain. Chernenko noted that various processes are associated with this, which have not yet been studied by specialists.
“As a rule, at a young age it is not dangerous, and health is restored rather quickly. However, the older the age, the slower the recovery of cognitive functions will go, ”explained the therapist.
To train memory, the doctor gave some advice. One of them is solving crosswords. The method works well for those who have never solved them. As for puzzle lovers, the therapist recommended that they switch to a new kind of crossword puzzles. Another tip is to shift familiar things from one place to another: the brain will have to remember where they are, and thus exercise. Finally, Chernenko advised to study languages. In particular, memorizing new foreign words will be a good workout.
“Watching your sleep, blood pressure and cholesterol levels will also help preserve your memory and essential functions,” she concluded.
Earlier, dermatologists said that almost every fifth patient infected with COVID-19 has skin signs of the disease. In particular, a new symptom was recorded in patients – “covid fingers”, in which the tips of the fingers and toes turn red, as if from frostbite.
