Russian nutritionist named Saakashvili's type of hunger strike

Nutritionist Dianova: if Saakashvili uses porridge and water, then this is partial malnutrition This type of hunger strike was named to TV channel 360 by the Russian gastroenterologist, nutritionist Nuria Dianova.

She explained that there are different types of hunger strikes. So, there is “wet” and absolute dry hunger. “Partial malnutrition is somewhat reminiscent of the blockade of Leningrad, when people ate a completely unacceptable minimum,” the doctor said.

Dianova pointed out that with complete starvation there is no food, but water is present. When dry, there is no food or water. At this point, the body is stressed. If Saakashvili's diet contains porridge and water, then we are talking about partial malnutrition.

A politician with this type of hunger strike gets at least some calories, nutritionist Dianova is sure.

November 6 Penitentiary the Georgian service has published a video in which Saakashvili is eating porridge. There is also a bottle of juice next to him.

Saakashvili was detained in Georgia on October 1 after he illegally entered the country. The politician was imprisoned under a sentence that was passed in absentia to him in the cases of the murder of banker Sandro Girgvliani several years ago.
