Denmark feared Russian aggression

Jyllands-Posten: Europe is ill-prepared for a military conflict with Russia exercises of Russia and Belarus “West-2021”. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten.

According to the author of the article, Per Nyholm, with military aggression from Russia, Denmark and Poland will be at risk. Russia's potential interest is the Suwalki corridor, which runs along the border between Poland and Lithuania, which can connect the territory of Belarus with the Kaliningrad region. According to calculations, if Poland is attacked, Denmark will not be able to hold out for more than five days.

Moscow specializes in infantry and tank forces, which, according to Nyholm, gives it an advantage in the open area of the Suwalki corridor. In addition, Russian missiles can reach Copenhagen in half an hour, and to the Danish island of Bornholm in 10 minutes. The author of the article is frightened by the fact that the potential threat from Russia does not cause serious concern to other NATO countries.

The Belarusian-Russian strategic maneuvers “West-2021” were held from 10 to 16 September. The task of the exercise was to test the readiness of the two countries for joint actions to protect the security and territorial integrity of the Union State.
