Three members of the electoral Commission in Rostov-na-Donu fined for election violations

The court in Rostov oblast sentenced the Chairman, Secretary and member of election Committee of one of the districts of Rostov-on-don for falsification of results of voting in 2016. On Thursday, June 29, reports “Interfax”.

“The defendants sentenced to fines ranging from 250 to 350 thousand rubles,” — said the official representative of the investigative Department of the TFR in the region Galina Gagalaeva.

According to investigators, on 18 September 2016 in a single day of voting, the accused acted with prior agreement. The Secretary of the precinct election Commission catapulted into the boxes not less than 50 pre-prepared ballots. The Chairman of the Commission and one of the employees at this point have shielded her from view.

Thus the ballots had been illegally included in the number used. Subsequently, the results of the voting at this polling station were declared invalid.

On may 15 the head of the Federation Council Committee on constitutional legislation Andrey Klishas has told about preparation of the bill that criminalizes the illegal issuance and receipt of the ballot. The maximum penalty for these crimes may amount to four years of imprisonment.

In 2017, the single voting day falls on September 10.
