Switzerland arrested the guarantee of Ukraine for the successful holding of “Eurovision”
The national public broadcasting company of Ukraine (NOTE), the organizer of the contest “Eurovision-2017” reported that the Geneva office of debt enforcement initiated the seizure of €15 million, which Kiev was provided by the European broadcasting Union (EBU) to guarantee the proper conduct of the song contest.
“The international song contest was successfully held in Ukraine, therefore, the amount of the guarantee must come back”, says the NOTE.
“We hired a law firm from Switzerland, because you need to find out all the circumstances of the case and to determine the order of application of the procedure of seizure in accordance with the Swiss legislation”, — said General Director of NOTE Zurab Alasania.
We will remind, in Kiev’s International exhibition center hosted the 62nd European song contest “Eurovision”. For the first time in many years Russia in the competition did not participate.
Prior to the competition Ukraine has demanded from the organizers of “Eurovision” not to interfere in the internal Affairs of the country. The NOTE urged the Europeans not to turn a cultural event into an instrument of political manipulation and to respect the sovereignty of the state.
Prior to this, the EBU threatened to impose sanctions against Ukraine for non-admission of Russian participants of Yulia Samoilova, which was denied entry into the country.
