The state Duma will discuss the issue of information security in Russia at the plenary meeting on 23 June, reports IA REGNUM.

The event will be held behind closed doors with the participation of the FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov. In this regard, people’s deputies it is forbidden to bring in room mobile phones or means of recording, said the speaker of the lower house of Parliament, Vyacheslav Volodin.

During the session deputies plan to find out why a number of Russian media “have closed contracts with the state to foreign media reports, according to which they are obliged to publish abroad prepared materials including propagandistic nature,” RIA Novosti.

In mid-may, the Duma Committee on information policy has prepared and submitted to the Parliament a report on the compliance of the activities of “Radio Liberty”, “voice of America” and CNN to Russian law. The initiative on the verification made by the first Deputy Chairman of the Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, European integration and relations with compatriots Konstantin Zatulin.
