The United States will maintain sanctions against Russia to resolve the Ukrainian crisis and consider them “the best tool” pressure on Moscow, said at a press briefing, White house spokesman Sarah Sanders.
“The administration is committed to maintaining existing sanctions against Russia. We will keep them as long as Moscow does not fulfill completely their commitments to resolving the crisis in Ukraine,” said Sanders.
In her words, “the sanctions regime is the best instrument to force Russia to fulfill its obligations”. “The administration will continue to work with Congress to make sure that we are taking the best actions relevant to US foreign policy interests,” said Sanders.
