In Brussels, the court withdrew the arrest of Russian property in Belgium

MOSCOW, 9 Aug — RIA Novosti. The court of Brussels has removed all arrests of property of Russian companies in Belgium, told RIA Novosti the head of the International centre for the legal protection Andrey Kondakov.

The court’s decision touched on, including assets news agencies RIA Novosti and ITAR-TASS reported. The property was under arrest under the claim of the former shareholders of Yukos.

In July 2014 the court of arbitration in the Hague upheld the claim of the former shareholders of YUKOS and ordered Russia to pay 50 billion dollars. Moscow appealed this decision, but the ex-shareholders of the company appealed to the courts of several countries demanding the arrest of the property. Later in France and Belgium arrested the property, which the executors of the decision of the court has found the Russian.

In April 2016, the Hague regional court quashed the decision of the local arbitration, explaining that it is not within his remit. In the autumn the court of appeal of Paris withdrew the arrest from the French accounts of Russian companies.
