The European Union has launched in Ukraine a project on the fight against corruption
KYIV, 1 Jul — RIA Novosti. The European Union has launched in Ukraine a project which will assist the country in fighting corruption, said on Thursday the Commissioner for neighbourhood policy and enlargement Johannes Hahn.
“Today we are officially inaugurating the initiative of the European Union on the fight against corruption in Ukraine. This is the largest programme of support for the EU in the field of fight against corruption at the moment,” said Khan during the launch of the project.
According to him, the project, European experts will help to develop the country’s anti-corruption agencies and commissions of Ukraine. Khan said that experts will assist Ukrainian authorities to develop legislative changes in the sphere of fight against corruption.
In addition, the program plans public involvement in the fight against corruption. Khan also said that the EU will provide financial support to Ukraine in the framework of the anticorruption program.
