The former head of the Udmurt Republic Solovyov admitted to receiving bribes

Moscow. May 31. INTERFAX.RU — the Former head of Udmurtia Alexander Solovyov pleaded guilty to corruption, said the Prosecutor in court.

“The validity of the charges Solovyova supported by a set of collected evidence, including the testimony of Solovyov,” said the investigator Roman Mukhachev on Wednesday at the meeting of the Basmanny court of Moscow, which considered the question on prolongation of arrest ex-the head of the region.

The investigation asks the court to leave Solovyov in custody for another three months, i.e. until 4 September. A preliminary investigation was extended to one year, i.e. until 14 October 2017. According to prosecutors, nightingales should remain in custody.

“Despite his position on the matter is that he admitted his guilt, this does not relieve the consequence from the necessity of proving and securing evidence”, — said the representative of the Supervisory authority. In turn, Solovyov asked not to remand.

“I have one request: please release him under house arrest,” he said. His lawyer Alexei Ulyanov supported the position of the defendant, referring to the state of health of the ex-head of the region and the possibility of being under house arrest in daughter’s apartment on Leninsky Prospekt.
