The President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev have discussed by phone preparations for the next international meeting on Syria in Astana, the press service of the Kremlin.

In addition, the presidents discussed a number of topical issues on the bilateral and international agenda – including in the context of the upcoming in June in Astana a meeting of the Council of heads of member States of the SCO and the opening of the exhibition “EXPO – 2017”.
At “Astana” has passed four rounds of meetings on the Syrian settlement — on January 23-24, 15-16 February, 14-15 March, and 3-4 may. The main result was the approval of regulations on the joint task force on monitoring of the cessation of hostilities in Syria and the signing by the countries-guarantors (Russia, Turkey and Iran) of the Memorandum on the establishment of a de-escalation in Syria aimed at stopping the violence, preserving the unity and territorial integrity of this country and the political settlement of the conflict.
