Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited French counterpart Emmanuel Macron arrive in Russia with a long visit. About it reports “Interfax” on Monday, may 29.

The head of state stressed that his trip to Paris is timed to the 300th anniversary of the visit of Peter I to France, which was an important milestone in the development of relations between the two countries. Responding to a question about whether to note something positive in relations between Moscow and Paris, Putin said: “Behold, the 300th anniversary of the visit note. It would be a desire something to celebrate, and if the desire is there, we will always find that” (quoted by TASS).
The Russian leader also said that the fundamental interests of both countries “is much more important than political expediency”. He stressed that none of the French company left the Russian market, despite sanctions. Putin also expressed confidence that the parties are ready to work together to find solutions for the situation in Syria and Ukraine.
