The Fund of struggle against corruption (FBK) Alexei Navalny has removed the video about the co-owner of “National Media Group” (NMG) Yury Kovalchuk because of false information. On Friday, may 26, said in his Facebook press-Secretary of the FCO Kira Armys.
According to her, the video contained factual errors, and some data became outdated. Armys apologized and promised to make a new material.
As explained by “Vedomosti”, in the video “Who owns all television of Russia” the press Secretary claimed that on TV there are “no different centres of opinions”, and all the major Russian media are owned by Kovalchuk.
According to the publication, in the video, for example, argued that in a media entrepreneur enters the First channel, but in fact a controlling stake in broadcaster owned by the state, and NMG only 25 percent. In addition, the newspaper said, the submission stated that the company Kovalchuk “Leader” manages “Gazfond”, but in fact the businessman and his partner Gennady Timchenko doesn’t own the company.
Yuri Kovalchuk is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bank “Russia”. “National Media Group” with his participation was established in 2008. It includes shares of the TV companies REN-TV, First channel, the Fifth channel, the newspaper “Izvestiya” and other media.
