Acting head of Udmurtia Alexander Brechalov called the optimization of the number of officials one of the main tasks of the Republic’s authorities in the near future. He told this in an interview with TASS, published on Thursday, may 18.
“Now he [state officials] is one of the largest in the Volga Federal district, we are the leaders”, — said Brechalov.
According to the Agency, the number of civil servants will be reduced by 10 percent due to structural changes in the organs of Executive power, the centralization of IT service, accounting, procurement services, and logistical support of public authorities in the region.
In addition, the planned release of the Ministry of the Republic from performing non-core functions, such as servicing the subordinate buildings and structures.
Brechalov was approved as acting head of the Udmurt Republic on 4 April. Then Brechalov stated that he views the appointment as a new challenge for myself. He also noted that more details will be able to talk about his new job after being completely immersed in the situation in the region.
