The Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on constitutional legislation and state construction Elena Mizulina promised to bring in a bill allowing registration of marriages outside the registry office. This was reported on the website of the parliamentarian.
“The ban on live music, the rose petals and the traditional glass of champagne — it is the kinks! Every couple who chooses to marry, has his own ideas about how to spend this most important day for them, as to make it truly special. If you want to the registry office with a solid and refined, it is necessary to legalize the marriage registration of marriage outside the registry office,” — said Mizulina.
She added that a similar bill was introduced in the Tyumen regional Duma, but the Duma rejected it, reports TV channel “360”.
On 17 may, the newspaper “Izvestia” reported that since may 1, the capital registry offices have refused to provide the duty of photographers, videographers and musicians. It was also stated that on-site civil registry offices are forbidden to drink alcohol, to beat glasses and to shower the newlyweds with rose petals or rice.
In addition, it was argued that the Moscow registry office has introduced a dress code prohibiting the newlyweds to come to the ceremony in shorts, t-shirts and torn jeans. Press Secretary of the registry office across Moscow Evgeny Smirnov explained that such restrictions affected only employees of the institution: operators and photographers who are hired to be married.
Currently, an official marriage registration in Moscow on the territory of several cultural facilities: the memorial Pushkin apartment estates “Kuskovo” and “Lublin” and others. In addition, there is a symbolic ceremony that can be arranged in any chosen location, however, the legal power they have, and a couple have to get married officially in the Registrar’s office.
