In the state Duma supported the candidacy of Deputy foreign Minister Antonov to the post of Ambassador to the United States
Moscow. May 18. INTERFAX.RU — the state Duma Committee on international Affairs on Thursday unanimously approved the nomination of Deputy foreign Minister Anatoly Antonov to the post of Russian Ambassador to USA, has informed “Interfax” a source in the Committee.
“The candidacy of Anatoly Antonov’s deputies supported”, — said the meeting participant. The petition of the foreign Ministry on this staffing issue, the deputies were represented by Deputy foreign Minister Igor Morgulov.
Antonov holds the post of Deputy foreign Minister in 2016. From 2011 to 2016, he was Deputy Minister of defense. He holds the diplomatic rank of Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, which was awarded him in 2007.
The current Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Sergey Kislyak has been in office since July 2008. As reported by the newspaper “Kommersant” close to the Kremlin sources, the Russian government has put forward his candidacy for the position of Director of new UN body — the Office for the fight against terrorism.
