The results of the operation HQs of the Russian Federation against international terrorists in Syria, have allowed to define ways of improvement and modernization of the modern Russian arms and military equipment, which was there applied, said Deputy Secretary of the Russian security Council Mikhail Popov.
In an interview with the newspaper “Krasnaya Zvezda”, timed to the upcoming June 25 th anniversary of the Russian security Council, Popov said that “in the unique operation involved far, tactical and army aviation, ships and submarines”.
He recalled that the first strikes were carried out high-precision cruise missiles, air-and sea-based at a distance of a thousand kilometers.
“Combat tested modern and upgraded models of weapons, military and special equipment. The results of testing determined the prospects of further improvements and modernization,” — said Popov.
