Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree according to which from the reserve Fund of the government to the development of higher education institutions will allocate more than four billion rubles. The document is published on the website of the Cabinet.
It is noted that the 3.15 billion rubles will be spent on subsidies to universities supervised by the Ministry of education, and 1.1 billion roubles for the development of educational institutions under the Ministry of culture. It is specified that the money allocated to the “implementation of state policy in the spheres of education and culture, including the costs of property, payment of utility and transport services, communication services”.
In April, the Ministry of education and science of Russia has published the list of the 22 universities that were winners of a second wave of competition core universities. Later, the head of Department Olga Vasilyeva said that eight new support universities receive from the Federal budget 100 million rubles a year.
