The Deputy head of the Ministry of defence discussed with the Finnish colleague flying over the Baltic sea

The Deputy head of MOE Russia Alexander Fomin on Friday discussed with his Finnish counterpart Jukka Yusti prevention of incidents at sea and the safety of flights over the Baltic sea, is spoken in the message of Department of information and mass communications of the Russian defense Ministry.

“The meeting discussed the issues of security in Europe, including possible steps to reduce tensions. Fomin informed assessments of the situation in Syria, efforts of the Russian Federation on creation of zones of de-escalation, humanitarian assistance. Confirmed the need for continued dialogue on the prevention of incidents at sea and safety in the Baltic region”, — stated in the message.

It is noted that the Deputy Minister of defence of the Russian Federation confirmed the invitation of the Finnish experts to participate in the international Army games-2017 and the International military-technical forum “Army-2017”. The meeting was held in a constructive manner. The parties reached agreement on the continuation of the dialogue between the defense ministries of the two countries.
