Peskov declined to estimate the tax on small families

Press Secretary of the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov, was not aware of the proposal to introduce in Russia the tax on small families, the correspondent “reports Tapes.ru”.

“No comment, because I don’t know what it was about. I don’t even know. I don’t know if this is true, and so whether it”, — said the representative of the Kremlin.

Earlier, on may 10 it was reported that the Director of the Institute of demography, migration and regional development Yury Krupnov has proposed to introduce a tax on small families. The relevant paragraph is contained in directed them to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin of the concept of the Federal law “On the status of large families”. The document also suggested a number of other measures to support large families. The new tax should be levied on families with one child and not having children not for medical reasons. The amount of the levy has not been determined.

The Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on constitutional legislation and state construction, Yelena Mizulina, criticized the initiative, calling it erroneous and harmful. According to her, the emphasis in family policy should be made to support, not discrimination of certain categories.
