A lawyer blogger Ruslan Sokolovsky wrote a letter to Patriarch Kirill. It lawyer Alexey Bashmakov asked the head of the Russian Orthodox Church to Express opinions about the criminal case brought against young people, according to Ura.ru.

The defender based his appeal to the fact that most his client alleged crimes related to insulting the feelings of believers, as well as incitement to hatred on religious grounds.

“In addition, the defendant is charged with the production and public dissemination of the video “the Patriarch, you…” insulting, according to the prosecution, the head of the Russian Orthodox Church,” writes Bashmakov.

According to the lawyer, Sokolowski also accused of inciting hatred of the clergy and humiliating assessments of Patriarch Kirill as the representative of the Russian Orthodox Church. At the end of the letter, the lawyer asks, “Please explain do you consider yourself offended and (or) humiliated by the distribution of the footage?”

The video in question, published on 31 may 2016. The blogger analyzes the statements of the Patriarch and criticizes them. While recording sounds obscene language.

In August 2016, the 21-year-old Sokolowski posted a YouTube video in which he plays Pokemon GO in the Temple-on-Blood. After this the young man became involved in the case. Nine of them made video found signs of incitement of hatred or enmity, humiliation of human dignity and of a group of persons on the grounds of nationality, religion, and likewise affiliation to any social group (article 282 of the criminal code).

In addition, the blogger is charged with seven episodes under article 148 of the criminal code (“violation of the right to freedom of conscience and religion”), and the episode article 138.1 of the criminal code (“Illicit trafficking of special technical means intended for secret obtaining information”) due to the fact that his rented apartment found spy pen. Now Sokolovsky is under house arrest.

The Church on Blood in Yekaterinburg was built in 2000-2003 on the place where on the night of 17 July 1918 was shot last Russian Emperor Nicholas II (house of Romanov) and his family.
