Senior administration of the President of Moldova has declared to the edition “Kommersant” that the decision to recall the Ambassador Dmitry Braghis from Russia due to the “intrigues” in the Moldovan government.

According to him, over the last week between the President of the Republic Igor Dodon and the Prime Minister Pavel Filip held several “very tough conversations”, which concerned the appointment of Moldovan ambassadors in different countries. He said that the conversation took place after the last week of February, Philip sent the President a list of nine candidates for the posts of heads of diplomatic missions, among whom were government-approved candidates for the positions of ambassadors to the United States, China, Austria, France, the UK and the permanent representative of Moldova to the United Nations.

“There were two conversations in recent days. Philip came to Dodona and firmly told the ambassadors. The Prime Minister had said that even if those proposed by the government, will receive agrements, Dodon will be against those who will not protect the interests of the country”, – said the source.

In addition, the source stressed that the Dodon criticized the party principle to the appointment of ambassadors.

“And here today we learned about opinion Braghis, who only a year and three months worked and was a mediator between the Russian and Moldovan presidents. That is, they withdrew the Ambassador in that country, with which we are trying to establish relations”, he concluded.
