Russia has sent France a request for the extradition of ex-banker Pugachev

Moscow. March 2. INTERFAX.RU the Prosecutor General of Russia asks France to extradite the former head of Mezhprombank Sergey Pugachev declared in the homeland wanted on charges of embezzlement in especially large size, have informed “Interfax” the official representative of the Supervisory Department Alexander Kurennoy on Thursday.

“The Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Sahak Karapetyan sent to the Ministry of justice of the French Republic a request for extradition for bringing to criminal liability of the former owner of “International industrial Bank” Sergey Pugachev. He is accused of committing crimes under part 3 of article 33, part 2 of article 201 of the criminal code and part 3 of article 33, part 4 of article 160 of the RF criminal code (organization and leadership of committing embezzlement and abuse of power by officials of the Bank),” said Kurennoy.
