The explosion occurred at the mine “Steppe” in the Lviv region, 11 people were killed

KIEV, March 2. /TASS/. Eleven miners died in a methane explosion at the mine “Steppe” in the Lviv region. This was announced by the head of the Confederation of free trade unions of Ukraine Oleksandr Volynets.
“Mine “Stepnaya” accident. Methane explosion, 11 dead,” wrote he in Facebook.
According to the Department gschs of Ukraine, at the moment of incident in mine there were 172 miners, 34 of them — in the emergency section.
The Agency reported the death of eight miners, six with injuries brought to the surface. The fate of 20 people remains unknown.
