Chairman of the State Commission on development of the Arctic, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin in an interview to”Rossiyskaya Gazeta” said that the current level of development of our country, meaning, and the scientific and technological aspect and, of course, the presence of highly skilled professionals, allow Russia today to make a qualitative leap – to create a new industry, comfortable to live and work in harsh Arctic conditions.
First of all, Rogozin said that now our country is the development of “green” technologies.
“For example, the foci of Arctic exploration in the past years suggests the need to develop small nuclear power, and to develop other economically viable methods of producing energy and heat from renewable sources,” he said.
As an example he hi floating nuclear power plant, which is in 2019, will become the main source of electricity supply Chaun-Bilibino power center of the Chukotka Autonomous district.
He noted that new technologies of building and housing and communal services and energy conservation at the moment is extremely necessary for our country, and they have serious export potential. In addition, according to the official, special attention is paid to modern means of obtaining drinking water and effective waste management that can bring us closer to development while the non-viable territories including on other planets.
