Moscow. 24 Feb. INTERFAX.RU — Leakage of ammonia detected in the us segment of the International space station, reported “Interfax” a source in the space industry.
“Loss of ammonia occurs from the external thermal control system. She is no threat to the crew,” — said the Agency interlocutor.
The astronauts could not halt the seepage of the substance for more than a week, however, before the source of the leak was determined.
With the help of the analyzer of ammonia delivered to the station, it was a scanning of the external surface of the station, and localized the leak — block valves on radiators section P-1.the source of “Interfax”
However, to stop the leakage of ammonia is not yet possible. NASA will continue to monitor the situation.
