Meeting of the presidents of Russia and Belarus Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko in the coming days is not planned due to busy with their schedules. On Monday, February 20, reported the Kremlin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, reports the correspondent of”.ru”.
“As far as we know, Alexander Lukashenko is in Sochi, this is a private trip. The next few days, as we understand, the graphics of the heads of state are overcrowded. But Putin, at least, such a meeting does not appear,” — said Peskov.
At the same time, a Kremlin spokesman stressed that the timing of the holding of the Supreme State Council of the Union state continues.
Answering the question about the schedule of Putin, Peskov, said that trips to Sochi by the Russian President in the coming days is not planned.
On 3 February President of Belarus held a seven-hour press conference, during which he made a number of sharp statements to address of Russia.
Lukashenko has accused Moscow of violating the interstate agreement in connection with the decision on the introduction of a border zone on the border with Belarus. In addition, he said that Minsk has the right to reduce the price of Russian gas, but also noted that Belarus can do without Russian oil.
At the same time, Lukashenka said that Russian and Belarusians “has grown into one of the cradle”, and has said it will not allow anti-Russian sentiment.
The Supreme Council of the Union state takes place once a year alternately in Russia and Belarus. It is attended by the heads of state, Prime Ministers and members of parliaments and governments of the two countries. The latest state Council meeting was held in Minsk on 25 February 2016.
