Merkel urged to improve relations with Russia as a neighbour of the EU
The West and Russia have common interests in combating terrorism, said the Chancellor at the Munich security conference.
Moscow. 18 Feb. INTERFAX.RU German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that despite differences with Russia, it is important to remember that it is a neighbor of the EU, and the relations need to improve.
“We need good relations with Russia,” she said, speaking Saturday at the Munich security conference.

She stressed that it is necessary to observe the Minsk agreements and that they remain the basis on the way to resolving the conflict in Ukraine. Merkel has reminded that today in Munich and will hold talks between the foreign Ministers in “channel format”.
