Ex-Governor Khoroshavin was transferred to Sakhalin
YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, February 14. /Offset. TASS, Iryna Baibarza/. The ex-Governor of the Sakhalin region Alexander Khoroshavin was transferred to Sakhalin to participate in judicial proceedings on corruption-related crimes, reported TASS a source in law enforcement bodies.

Earlier it was reported that the city court of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk was appointed on Monday, February 20, a preliminary hearing in the case of ex-Governor of the Sakhalin region Alexander Khoroshavin and his some of his subordinates, accused of receiving a bribe in especially large size. A preliminary hearing will be held in a closed court session in accordance with part 1 of article 234 UPK of the Russian Federation.
The Prosecutor General’s office sent to court a case against the Khoroshavin, Deputy Karepkin Advisor Ikramova and the Minister of agriculture, trade and food of the Sakhalin oblast Nikolay Borisov. They are accused of committing crimes under art 290 of the criminal code of Russian Federation (“bribe reception”) and item 174 of the criminal code of Russian Federation (“Legalization of funds obtained by criminal means”).
According to investigators, the defendants in the case from 2009 to 2015, systematically received from entrepreneurs operating in the Sakhalin region, bribes for the right to perform work on public contracts, obtaining subsidies from Federal and regional budgets, timely receipt and payment of works. During this period they received about 522 million rubles, investigators believe.
Khoroshavin was arrested March 3, 2015 and March 25 of the same year he was removed from office by the Governor in connection with loss of trust.
