The Federation Council approved the law on decriminalization of battery against family members. On Wednesday, 1 February, reports TASS.
“The law sets out article 116 of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation in the new edition and moves the battery against close persons committed for the first time, in the category of administrative offenses”, — said one of the authors of the document, the Deputy head of the Federation Council Committee on constitutional legislation and state construction Lyudmila Bokova.

The state Duma adopted the law of resonance 27 Jan. For beatings inflicted by loved ones for the first time, now will not pursue criminal and administrative paper. Repeated actions committed within a year will be considered a criminal offense. Beatings are acts that cause physical pain but not leading to short-term health and disability.
