The first in a century Requiem for the Russian sailors took place at the American military cemetery in Virginia.
Six sailors from the frigate “Svetlana” was buried 140 years ago on this earth. The ship came into the American port during the circumnavigation. Historians suggest that the sailors died of scurvy or typhus.
Dead buried in hospital cemetery, near the sailors and officers of many ships and fleets. The Americans have kept those graves. Now they are on a working base of the US Navy.
