To link the issue of sanctions against Russia and nuclear arms reduction is hardly appropriate from the expert viewpoint. This was stated press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov, in an interview published on the website vesti.ru.
“Composition of the nuclear component in the United States and in our country is different. And therefore, some symmetric cuts are absolutely unacceptable and inappropriate,” – said Peskov.
He also noted that this approach may lead to violation of nuclear deterrence, which plays a critical role in ensuring global stability and security.
“Therefore, to link the issue of sanctions and the issue of nuclear reductions are unlikely in the future will be possible with the expert point of view,” — said Peskov.
