Putin congratulated medics with their professional holiday
MOSCOW, 18 Jul — RIA Novosti. The President of Russia Vladimir Putin congratulated workers and veterans of national health care on their professional holiday, the press service of the Kremlin.
“You chose the most humane and noble profession that requires profound knowledge, exceptional hard work and complete dedication. And most importantly — selfless generosity, sensitivity and responsiveness. These qualities from time immemorial has been inherent in the best representatives of Russian medicine”, — the telegram says.
Putin noted that today the Russian medical community is facing serious challenges. According to him, it is necessary to increase the efficiency of health care, to introduce modern technologies and practices to improve the quality and availability of medical care. And to give high priority to the training of qualified personnel, the President added.
Annually on the third Sunday of June in Russia marks Day of medical worker. It was established by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated 1 October 1980 “About celebratory and memorable days”. In 2017 the Day of medical worker is celebrated on June 18.
