French pilot crossed the English channel in a flying machine

PARIS, 14 Jul — RIA Novosti, Victoria Ivanova. French driver Bruno Vezzoli has crossed the English channel in a flying machine that resembles a hybrid of a glider and a lightweight all-terrain buggy.

As reports Reuters, the device is called the Pegasus took a running start on the old runway near the French port of Calais, and landed in the water, 59 kilometers from the starting point, next to the British Dover.

Developed the “Pegasus” entrepreneur Jerome Dofi, inspired by the works of the pioneers of aviation — the Brazilian Alberto Santos-Dumont and the Frenchman Louis Bleriot. In 1909, Bleriot was the first pilot crossing the English channel.

Dofi planned to construct a flying machine that would fly around the world in 80 days.

The English channel, the maximum width of which is 250 kilometers and the minimum is 32 km long acted as a kind of “testing ground” for testing experimental vehicles.
