Germany’s call to build relations with Russia from a position of power made in favor of Washington, suggests the Chairman of the Duma Committee on international Affairs Alexei chepa. His assessment he shared in an interview with “Tape.ru” on Tuesday, June 13.

Perhaps this is one of the reasons that everyone is now trying to show their political loyalty to one or another policy of the United States,” — said the Deputy.
Chepa said that such statements are not conducive to the improvement of the tense situation in the world. “We are clear policy of non-interference in the internal Affairs of other States, but in insult we will never allow,” he added.
Earlier Tuesday, the German Minister of defense Ursula von der Leyen in Strasbourg at the session of the European Parliament Committee on foreign Affairs and Subcommittee on security and defence stated that Berlin is interested in resolving differences with Russia, but from a position of strength.
Moscow’s relations with the countries-members of NATO escalated in 2014 after the reunification of the Crimea with Russia. In 2016, the beginning of this year, the Alliance has placed in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Poland multinational battalions. Some of them are including soldiers from Germany. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that military-political bloc strengthens the Eastern flank with the aim of exerting pressure on Russia.
