The Turkish government landed ashore the ship’s captain for insulting Erdogan

The captain of the ship Salix, which is under the Panamanian flag followed through the Dardanelles Strait, was suspended and landed on the beach after he insulted President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in talks on the radio with the vessel traffic services, the Agency DHA, citing a source in law enforcement bodies.
It is reported that the ship was sailing from the Ukrainian port of Berdyansk in Turkish Mersin. After the captain of the vessel, Turkish citizen O. B., made offensive remarks about Erdogan, he had made a report, and the coast guard ordered him to leave the ship after passing through the Strait. The captain was questioned, the management of the ship was handed over to his chief assistant. According to the source Agency, the captain was drunk. After questioning he was released, the investigation continues.
Earlier, the Minister of justice of Turkey Bekir Bozdag said that in respect of 1845 the citizens of the country under investigation on charges of insulting Erdogan. For insulting the President under Turkish law provides a monetary penalty or imprisonment for the term from one year to four years. The opposition accused the authorities that they use this article to repress dissent with the policies of Erdogan.
