Deputy permanent representative of Russia to the UN Vladimir Safronkov demanded at a meeting of the UN Security Council, clarification from the American side in connection with the announcement on June 1 in the extension of us sanctions against the DPRK, which was hit by a Russian company.
“I would like to hear an explanation from the American side in relation to the announced on June 1, the extension of us sanctions against the DPRK, under which were three Russian companies and one citizen of our country, – said Safronov at a meeting of the UN security Council, which adopted resolution 2356 on expanding sanctions against the DPRK. – This step causes bewilderment and deep disappointment. We have repeatedly said that the mechanism of unilateral restrictions is illegal from the point of view of international law.”
