The Russian defense Minister Sergei Shoigu late on Tuesday evening, informed the President of Russia Vladimir Putin about the successful launches of missiles “Caliber” on targets of the terrorist group “Islamic state” in Syria*, reported the press Secretary of the head of state, Dmitry Peskov.
The defense Ministry on Wednesday reported that the frigate “Admiral Essen” and the submarine “Krasnodar” naval fleet from the waters in the Eastern Mediterranean sea carried out four launches of cruise missiles “Caliber” targets of a terrorist organization “Islamic state” in Syria* near Palmyra, and struck all the targets.
“Shoigu told Putin about a series of successful launches of missiles “Caliber” produced from a submarine in the Mediterranean sea on the objectives of ISIL* in Syria”, — he said.
*A terrorist organization banned in Russia
