The former dictator of Panama Manuel Noriega has died on 84-m to year of life
The President of Panama, Juan Varela has noted that “the death of Manuel Noriega closed the Chapter” the history of the country.
MOSCOW, may 30. /TASS/. General Manuel Noriega, who led Panama from 1983 to 1989, has died at the age of 83 years. This was reported by the AFP news Agency, citing a government representative.
“Mr. Noriega died that night” — said the Agency interlocutor.
The President of Panama, Juan Varela commented in his Twitter the death of the General: “the Death of Manuel Noriega closed a Chapter of our history”.

Earlier it was reported that the former leader had multiple surgeries on the brain and was put into an artificial coma.
From 1983 to 1989, Noriega, de facto led by Panama, after which he was ousted by U.S. military intervention. He was accused of mass murder of opposition supporters. In 2011 the former leader was extradited from France to Panama and imprisoned. In January, the court of Panama has allowed the conversion of Noriega under house arrest in connection with the upcoming operation to remove a benign brain tumor.
