According to Philippine authorities, the killing of civilians by militants occurred in the city of Marawi, where at the moment the confrontation of government forces and Islamist supporting terrorist group ISIS*. The dead included three women and a child. The bodies of the victims discovered by the military near the University city.
“They are civilians, women… We found their bodies during a search and rescue operation,” — said the Agency representative of the military. He added that the investigation into the deaths of civilians have not been conducted.
Earlier it was reported that the armed forces of the Philippines fired guided missiles from helicopters rebel positions in an attempt to end the clashes in Marawi city.
On Tuesday evening it became known that the President of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte imposed martial law in the province of Mindanao after fighting between the army and a group supporting ISIS*.
